Ecosystem Professionalism Standards  ·  2026
Excellence over elitism
Respect is non-negotiable
Zero tolerance for plagiarism
Section 01
Technical Integrity

TechHK is built on the pillar of Professional Excellence. We foster an environment of hard-but-fair technical reviews where the goal is always growth — not gatekeeping.

Members are expected to critique the architecture, not the architect. Every person in this community was a beginner at some point. The standard we hold is not perfection — it is honest effort and continuous improvement.

  • Give constructive, specific feedback on work
  • Acknowledge when someone has done something well
  • Share knowledge openly — rising tides lift all boats
  • Use technical elitism to discourage beginners
  • Mock or belittle peers for their skill level
Section 02
Build-In-Public Ethics

Our build-in-public model requires a foundation of trust. When members share their work publicly, they are making themselves vulnerable. That vulnerability must be respected and protected by every member of this community.

Anti-Plagiarism
Stealing a peer's logic, code, documentation, or project assets — during a challenge or otherwise — is a Tier 1 violation and results in immediate disqualification and review for permanent removal.
Collaborative Respect
The peer networking portal is for professional discourse. Spamming, unsolicited sales pitches, self-promotion without contribution, or off-topic content is prohibited.
Honest Representation
Do not misrepresent your skill level, credentials, or the originality of your work. TechHK's value depends on the authenticity of every member's presence here.
Section 03
Respect & Inclusion

TechHK is a pan-African community. Our members span 18+ countries, dozens of languages, and every background imaginable. This diversity is our greatest strength — and it must be protected deliberately.

  • Treat every member with dignity regardless of background or skill level
  • Celebrate cultural diversity within the community
  • Use inclusive language in all public communications
  • Engage in harassment, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind
  • Make assumptions about someone's ability based on their background
  • Share private member information without consent

Discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, or any protected characteristic will result in immediate account review and likely permanent removal from the community.

Section 04
Violation Tiers

Violations are categorized by severity. The TechHK Vetting Committee reviews all reported incidents and determines consequences based on evidence, context, and prior history.

Tier 1
Plagiarism
Copying another member's work during a challenge. Immediate disqualification and bounty forfeiture.
Tier 1
Harassment
Any form of targeted harassment, threats, or intimidation toward another member.
Tier 1
Fraud
Misrepresenting credentials, manipulating challenge results, or exploiting the credit system.
Tier 1
Hate Speech
Discriminatory language or behaviour targeting any individual or group.
Tier 2
Spam
Repeated unsolicited promotion or off-topic content in community spaces.
Tier 2

Inflating skill claims or providing misleading information about your experience.
Tier 2
Content Redistribution
